Services: mortgage payment assistance, rent payment assistance. May be able to provide one month's emergency rent and mortgage assistance to eligible residents. Also provides temporary emergency housing vouchers to victims of disasters, such as house fires, in conjunction with the American Red Cross. Eligibility: Benzie or Manistee county residents who can prove they have had a sudden loss of income. Circumstances leading to sudden loss of income may vary, including job loss, unforeseen car repair or medical bills. Must also be able to prove that future housing payments can be made (unemployment is coming, other bill has been resolved, etc.). Those seeking emergency housing vouchers due to a disaster need to contact the American Red Cross.
