North Adams Housing Authority Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Waiting List

This waiting list is for Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher rental housing assistance in North Adams, Massachusetts.

The North Adams Housing Authority in North Adams, MA, is open for one day only on August 22, 2024. Online applications may be submitted from 9:00AM to 3:00PM.

This waiting list last opened up on July 15, 2014.  In 2014, application was required to be made in person only at the housing authority offices.

This time around, applications were submitted made with an online Section 8 application or in person on paper.

In person applications were made at the housing authority office at 150 Ashland Street, North Adams, MA 01247. For in person, paper applications could only be picked up at the housing authority office on August 22, 2024 but could be turned in up to 14 days later (September 5, 2024).

The housing authority has a local residency preference that gives waiting list preference to those who currently live or work in the City of North Adams.  The housing authority also has a preference for homeless persons, those at risk of becoming homeless those displaced through no fault of their own, and victims of domestic violence.

Selection Process

The waiting list is a random lottery. It will be sorted by preference and applicants will be selected at random. Applying early in the day had no effect on the order in which applicants were added to the waiting list.
