Scranton Housing Authority Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Waiting List

The Scranton Housing Authority (SHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently closed. It was last open from November 2015 until February 2016.Please note: This waiting list has preferences. This means that applicants who qualify for these preferences will receive assistance before applicants who do not. Because of these preferences, applicants who do not qualify may have a longer wait to receive assistance.There were two ways to apply during the opening period:  

1. Visit the SHA office.
2. Applicants who do not live locally could have called the SHA office to have a pre-application mailed to them. Pre-applications were not mailed to local applicants.

The following preferences were identified: Elderly, disabled, working.Applicants were placed on the waiting list by date and time of pre-application submission, by order of preferences.The SHA will notify the public when this waiting list reopens through local newspapers and Channel 16 News.For more information, call the SHA office at (570) 348-4415.
