Granville Place Apartments, a three-story, independent living apartment complex of 90 units for low income senior adults age 62 and older, is located in the West Salem area of Winston-Salem on the site of the original Granville Elementary School.  Located close to shopping, public transportation, health services and churches, each apartment contains a living room, kitchen with dining area, bedroom with closet and a bath.  Rent is based on individual's income and 10 handicapped accessible units are available for persons 18 years and older with mobility impairments requiring wheelchair accessibility.  A full-time Resident Services Coordinator and a part-time Social Activities Coordinator are on staff, and van transportation for shopping and local events is available one day per week.  Opened in 1980.
