About
The City of Norwalk Housing Authority (CNHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently closed. It was last open for four days in September 2015, and before that in 2007. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.
Norwalk, CA is about 15 miles southeast of Los Angeles, CA.
To apply, prospective applicants were required to pick up a pre-application at the Norwalk Arts and Sports Complex Rich Rehearsal Hall.
Once the pre-application has been completed, it must have been mailed on any date from September 25, 2015 until October 2, 2015 to the CNHA office.
Letters postmarked before September 25, 2015 were placed last on the waiting list, and letters postmarked after October 2, 2015 were accepted. No applications were accepted in person.
The following preferences were identified: veterans, live or work in the City of Norwalk.
The CMHA closed the waiting list once 3,000 applications were distributed.
Qualified applicants were placed on the waiting list by date and time the application was received, by order of preferences.
Once an applicant's name has reached the top of the waiting list and funding is available, the CNHA will notify them by mail.
The CNHA asks that applicants do not call or visit its office to find out their status on the waiting list. The information will not be available until after all applications have been processed.
Those placed on the waiting list in 2007 can check their status here.
For more information, visit the CNHA website, or call the CNHA office at (562) 929-5588.
