This waiting list is for Section 8 Project-Based Voucher rental housing assistance in Emeryville and Union City, California.
The Housing Authority of the County of Alameda (HACA) last accepted Section 8 Project Based Voucher waiting list applications for 3 and 4-Bedroom apartments in Emeryville and Union City for one day only on May 6, 2024.There is no notice when this waiting list will reopen.
Please note: "This waiting list is for 3- and 4-bedroom units in Emeryville and Union City for families with very low-income (VLI) and extremely low-income (ELI)."
The maximum income limits for each household size were as followed:
- 1 Person $31,050 | 5 Persons $47,900
- 2 Persons $35,500 | 6 Persons $51,450
- 3 Persons $39,950 | 7 Person $55,000
- 4 Persons $44,350 | 8 Persons $58,550
This waiting list had the following preferences:
- Homeless
- has a primary nighttime residence that is a place not meant for human habitation; or is living in a shelter designed to provide temporary living arrangements like emergency shelters, transitional housing, hotels paid for by an organization or assistance program; or is exiting an institution where they have resided for 90 days or less and who resided in an emergency shelter or place not meant for human habitation immediately before entering that institution.

1,500 selected applicants were placed on the PBV 3-bedroom (VLI) waiting list by random lottery, by order of preferences.
1,500 selected applicants were placed on the PBV 3-bedroom (ELI) waiting list by random lottery, by order of preferences.
500 selected applicants were placed on the PBV 4-bedroom (VLI) waiting list by random lottery, by order of preferences.
500 selected applicants were placed on the PBV 4-bedroom (ELI) waiting list by random lottery, by order of preferences.
To apply while the waitlist was open, applicants were required to complete the online application that was available on the HACA website.
